Luís is an electrical and computer engineer from Portugal, with a long-standing fascination for financial markets and investing.

He started investing in 2008, exploring stocks, investment funds, ETFs, and global markets, but it wasn’t until 2019 that he discovered trading — a moment that transformed his approach from passive investing to active market engagement.

Since that turning point, Luís has dedicated himself to understanding how markets really work, separating myths from reality and turning complex concepts into actionable strategies.

From 2022 onwards, his focus became intensive and structured: combining technical strategies, execution discipline, and psychological mastery.

Over the years, he experienced first-hand the challenges most traders face — from overtrading and poor risk management to psychological pitfalls — and learned how to overcome them.

Today, Luís is a intraday trader and the creator of The Trading Files, a documentary-style project that explores trading in depth and guides aspiring traders from beginner mistakes to professional execution.

Mission and Philosophy

The Trading Files is built on a simple idea: to show what trading really is — without illusions, shortcuts, or false promises.

There is nothing to sell here.

No courses, no mentorships, no signals, no “next step” waiting behind the content.

Everything is shared openly, with the goal of documenting the real process of becoming a trader, giving aspiring traders a clear, entertaining, and practical way to learn — while showing both the successes and the challenges of real-world trading.

Luís explores the full reality of trading — from strategy and risk management to execution, discipline, and psychological resilience.
